My Honda GX390 is being a pain again. With the gun not attached, free flowing, will run about 30 sec then starts to run rough for about 20 sec, then dies. Wait 10 min try again, same thing, changed spark plug and took off carburetor and used carb cleaner to clean it up, put carb back on, and sprayed carb cleaner with engine running. It did not help the problem. I ordered a new carb up to see if that will work. Anything else it might be?

Check your oil. It has a low oil shut off. If the oil is okay unplug it. You will have to look a little but it is there. We have had that problem.

Drop fuel bowl and clean the jets underneath. Just blast it with carb cleaner use a flat blade screw driver to unscrew the jet and clean them as well. Check the line from the tank with the current standard of 10% ethanol in gas rubber will begin to break down in days with the fuel. Replace it with EPDM line and blow the tank out while you have it off as well. Before you put it all back together check the bowl gasket for cracks and replace ti as well if needed.

well, I tried to disco the oil sensor. That did not work. Took off fuel line connected to carb , used the air compressor and blew it out. Now it works Great. Thanks for the advice, I will have to get some better fuel line :thumbup2:

Did you blow through the line towards the tank? There's a small filter in the tank at the end of the line. You might have crud in your gas.

yea, I took a flash light and peeked in my tank, didnt see any thing. But when I get the new line I will have to drain the tank and will clean that filter out as well.
