How important is hot water?

I just started out in the business and my first contract is cleaning delivery trucks. I'm up in Canada so it gets cold. I started out thinking I could pre-soak three trucks, brush them then rinse. But, by the time I got back to the first truck, it was frozen. So, I had to skip the pre-soak and brush half a truck at a time then rinse. would hot water help? any suggestions?

Hot water helps a lot. I wash mainly tracker/trailers and my soap will freeze in seconds on the wheels, tanks and stacks. The hot water saves me time and water and since water is pretty tight here (I can't use water at most of my places I wash). Been pretty fortunate that we have been in a mild spell here, so I haven't had to contend with the cold weather for a little while.

Hot water is going to give you a better clean no matter what season.
