How Many Websites Is Enough?

AZ PowerWash Pros

Answer: THERE IS NO SUCH THING!

I am pretty pumped up, I just dropped 4 new websites for sweeping! I have over 30 websites now, 34 to be exact. I'm wondering if that is a record in the power washing industry? haha
Some of them look the same, but they have minor differences. Also, some of them are sites within websites. Some are DBAs different trade names we own, some have different phone numbers, some don't. I am not done with my mission yet. There is a lot more work to do. And I am still testing out different strategies. But overall, I feel like I have accomplished something today.

Anyone want to guess my Godaddy bill? haha
Hopefully, eventually every website will bring me one or two calls a day!

I have always heard differing views on this strategy. One guy I know does very well with it in a different industry. One of his 15 towing companies will bring your car to one of his twenty transmission shops all located in the same building!!

Every website looks unique and all different numbers.

I have known guys in the tree and landscaping business that did similar things so chances are when you call around, you are calling them several times. You are increasing your market share and eliminating some of your competition at the same time.

I'm not sure Ty , if the consumer is calling and they call different site to only talk with you each time they might be Weary.

But hey if it's working only you would know.

You know what I wonder is we get similar calls. Occasionally ill get a call that you didn't receive. I wonder why that is? You have every search term covered in Phoenix.

Just curious , the sweeping site looks good.

Ron, I never mislead customers. If a customer calls me twice, which rarely happens but has, I just explain that we already spoke with them and gave them a quote. They understand.
I wish I had every search phrase! haha You definitely show up well all over. But this works for me so I try my best at it. Always go 100%.

That's good Ty , you know I have other sites?

None look the or have the same number. But they also are SEO different.

Your az dominates Powerwashing for sure, great job. As long as you drive a guy I know nuts I'm good with it.

I get lots of calls off of my trucks. Of course, most are people looking for a job. I guess since I do the majority of my work in daylight hours, that is what I get.

This is a very dangerous strategy. Google's Penguin update will catch this eventually if they haven't already. I ran a copyscape on one of them and there were several at 96% copy.

Here is a paste from an SEO site....
Another thing on the quality guidelines list is: “Don’t create multiple pages, subdomains, or domains with substantially duplicate content.”

Of course, like the rest of the guidelines, this is nothing new, but in light of the Penguin update, it seems worth examining the guidelines again, if for no other reason than to provide reminders or educate those who are unfamiliar. Duplicate content seems like one of those that could get sites into trouble, even when they aren’t intentionally trying to spam Google. Even Google says in its help center article on the topic, “Mostly, this is not deceptive in origin.”

“However, in some cases, content is deliberately duplicated across domains in an attempt to manipulate search engine rankings or win more traffic,” Google says. “Deceptive practices like this can result in a poor user experience, when a visitor sees substantially the same content repeated within a set of search results.”

That stinks. I paid a lot of money for a new website awhile back only to have them copy and paste content from my existing site.

Personally, I feel a websites content should be on the owner, not the builder. How can someone else describe your business?

That's what they get paid for.

How in the world could they...99.999999% of all the web design companies in the world have no idea what roof cleaning or soft washing is. They don't know if you do decks or just house washes, if you clean gas stations or just residential. You want pic's of a surface cleaner on a tile roof when your business is in Indiana or Michigan? Pic's of a 6hp sears PW'er? You'd have to write pages of text just to tell them how to write about your website. There are just a handful of web designers that understand our business. Even fewer that also handle the SEO.

Besides the web design and SEO, I can and do write other peoples content for them but it's the most difficult part. The best and least expensive option is to take a stab at drafting each page after the designer hands it off to you and then pass it to the SEO guy to polish it up and optimize the pages.

What you suggest is like hiring out someone to write your business plan.

I think I understand this a little more now and agree with you. Thanks for explaining it a little more in detail.
