I do good doorknocking between 10-4 on nice, sunny Saturdays. Ive seen that after 4 people are settling in for dinner and dont like answering the door.
Sunday is really only good from 1-330.
Then weekdays have been hit and miss for me. Maybe 4-5 and then some arent even home from work.
Biggest drawback is I can only knock on so many a day. Then when the weather get real hot.... too hot to knock it gets hard to bring in work. Starting out last year I relied on it way too much and it hurt me in the summer. But its working great now. Just to get the season started.
