Is There an Answer to This?

At least $10 billion ? Any one else care to guesstimate?

Rance, nationwide a $10B guesstimate works out to about $3.18 per capita.

Portland metro has a population of 2,226,000. That multilied against the $3.18 number would indicate the Portland market would be around $7,079,000.

I did a Portland analysis of chain fast food restaurants, chain grocery, and all gas stations and came up with an estimate (as opposed to a guesstimate lol) of $8,500,000.

Now, on the commercial side of things when you factor in shopping centers, box stores, warehouse, branch banks, parking garages, etc, what's the multiplier. I'd guesstimate that 5 would be conservative. But using it indicates a Portland commercial market size of, say $42,500,000.

What's the size of the Portland residential market? Hand grenades and horseshoes - say it's the same as the commercial market ($42,500,000).

So, if the Portland market is $85,000,000, that would be equal to $38.19 per capita.

Therefore my guesstimate of the size of the national market is $100B. And that dosen't include windows, fleet, oil fields and on and on.

Wholly Cow!!

Those numbers put little ol' Salem to shame. All of Marion County still doesn't begin to touch that.

I don't know that it is a billion in the Phoenix market, but I do know that just on this board there are contractors that combined probably do, or have done a solid $12 million, and we are probably not even close to 5% of the market. Shoot, we have 5 distributors that I can think of right off the top of my head, and they all gross $2,000,000 a year or more. With that being said, Only the smaller contractors use them regularly.

When I say $1b I am referring to the possibility of work out here. You gotta think between fleets, hoods, flatwork, residential homes, car detailing etc.. if every commercial center, building, or plaza was signed up on regular maintenance. If every residential home was done annually I think it would be close to 1B for sure maybe more. As of right now, I would guess its in the quarter billion area. There is probably a thousand companies in Phoenix. And just on this board $12M or more. That doesn't even include all the contracting companies etching the concrete or cleaning the mortar from bricks haha. With all the power washing combined, Id easily guess quarter Billion industry as of today. Most large cities I would assume the same. But maybe Im just an optimist!

Fleetwash is majority owned by Transportation Resource Partners, a private equity firm of which Roger Penske is a managing director.

Yeah recently that private equity firm contacted us and a bunch other companies and offered to buy us out. They had a letter explaining how their business plan it to buy out more and more businesses to take over the industry.

Correction, Transportation Resource Partners sold the majority of the company in June of this year to another private equity firm - DFW Capital Partners. Roger Penske does not show up in DFW management.
