have been limping around on a partially torn achilles tendon in my right foot for a little over 2 yrs.In the last couple months the pain had become so bad there were days I couldn't work, fed up with the pain and eating ibuprofen like candy I started to due some research before going to see a doctor.
There are 2 methods of treatment...1 have surgery and be off my foot for 4 months, then a walking cast for 6 to 8 months more.2 get a brace that I can wear with my shoes and at night.I figured trying option 2 was worth an attempt before seeing the doctor.I had a brace in my softball bag that met the requirements needed to stabilize my ankle and heel.I have been wearing it daily for 2 1/2 weeks no my pain has been reduced by at least 70% the large egg sized knot on my heel has reduced at least that much.
I had just about forgot what it was like to walk without pain that nearly crippled me.I'll likely have to wear the brace until spring, but it's a minor inconvenience to be able to get around pain free or at least mostly pain free.

Good deal man! Good luck. If your like me, I HATE going to the doc, esp. if it means I am gonna be down. I ain't the type to just sit around the house, even if it don't amount to anything, I have to be up doing something or in the shop piddling around with a car or something.

Year before last, my back got to killing me. It had alway hurt some, but was to the point that I couldn't do much of anything. After about 2 weeks, I decided to just go to a chiropractor that a buddy had recommended. He took x rays and showed me how bad out of align my spine was, then made me sit and watch 2 or 3 videos about the spine. He then set me up on a 13 week program (started out 5 days a week and went down to 1 day a week at the end) and after bout 2 weeks I felt 10 years younger as far as what I could do! I still go once a month and its the ONLY doc that I have ever looked forward to going to see!

I am glad I went ahead and opened this thread. I almost deleted it thinking it was some kind of perverted spam for Viagra.

Brother you just ain't right some times.....hahahahaha

I would have neer imagined just how bad a sore hell would make the rest of my body feel bad.The last week physically I have felt so much better than the last couple of yeas.Hitting the floor in the A.M. isn't accompanied but stabbing unbearbale pain now,but is replaced by what I would call a mild pinching feeling.I haven't needed 12 to 16 ibuprophen daily in over a week....my liver is thanking me.
