Muscle Cramps!

We had a long hot day today. Washed 1200 feet of wall and about 200 feet of sidewalks. Heat was tough. We drank a LOT of water, propel, gatorade and Vita Coco coconut water (google it!) Still had awful leg and all over body muscle cramps! Any suggestions please???Carolina Accents Test Wash 006.JPGCarolina Accents 003.JPG

I take electrolyte supplement pills.

The trick to no muscl cramps is adequate exercise and stretching combined with hydration. You can't only hydrate that day while working. Hydration has to take place all day everyday. Thats the only way to get your body to function properly. Too much lactic acid and not enough water is why you are having these problems

You also could be low on potassium. Eat some Banana's.

Your a puss......lol.....sorry that's all I could come up with....I'm 51 and did 1/2 mile of sidewalks and walls yesterday in sweltering heat. No coconuts or energy drinks just water so my suggestion is hire someone else to do the work and u watch.

THIS is key. You can't wake up, start drinking water, and think you will be ok all day. You should start drinking water the day before you expect to be out in the heat. Even then, frequent breaks and alternating between water and a sports drink (or something with electrolytes) are the best way to avoid problems. In the fire service/EMS we have a saying.... PCPO - Pee clear, pee often.

What do u suggest I do...lol

Ever seen a monkey with leg cramps? Eat bananas.

Ever seen a monkey with leg cramps? Eat bananas.

Never gotten close enough.

The flip side is all the bananas in the world don't matter if you intake large amounts of the wrong salts or caffeine.

That's true, but it is really hard to diagnose something on the internet.

If you send me your insurance information and a check for your co-payment I will give you a diagnosis of drink more fluids (water-sports drinks) for electrolyte balance, lower caffine intake, take a suppliment tablet, lots of breaks in a cool place, and take an Alieve at bed time. I am not a doctor but did bid a job at a Holiday Inn Express once.

Scott, this is the internet. We can be anything we want. Heck, I even pretend to be a cleaner on here. See? Anything is possible. Lol
