Accually Venison is on the menue for today with the turkey and other good stuff like squirrel, moose and wild Bore. Neigbors dont like eating at my house. They never know what they are really eating!!! LOL

Sounds like a chinese buffet...but are the items really what they say they are? Neighbors may not like it cause their cat and dog went missing last week...LOL.

This is a good funny thread. Going hunting later today

When I was a kid in Ohio, Thanksgiving was the family hunting day. Didn't matter the season, if we saw it we shot it. Only on Thanksgiving though. Go figure. Every other day was legal beagle.

There is a nice 6 pointer hanging in the back yard. I have hunting camps all around me. Chases everything onto my 11 acres. 10 of it woods. gotta love it!

Doing a batch of venison jerky in the shop today. We don't buy beef so venison is on the menu a lot. We process our own and make sausage etc. It finally got cold enough last week to get the deer up and moving and be able to hang a deer outside. Once deer season is over coyote starts. Hunting is the ONLY thing I like about winter.

I am Mormon, and have a son on a mission in Taiwan. His thought is, the more expensive the meat, the more recognizable it is. He has also decided that if he doesn't know what it is, he is better off not asking.

Do they have a season for coyote there. When I was back in Ohio a few years ago, Coyote was 24/7/365 if I remember right. Hate those critters. No natural predators any more to keep them in check.

Randy,
We have been catching them in the bay for last month...my borther caught 2 nice ones just yesterday. FYI my in-laws are in Warrington. Nice fishing up that way...

Technically there is a season but with written permission you can take them year round. I think they do that to satisfy the PITA types. Their pelts are best during late winter. My DNR officer friend says he doesn't know of anyone being written up for taking yotes anytime. They are a real problem here.

Here's a photo taken last week in my friends driveway. They've had some cats come up MIA. His daughter tried to wack it with a .308 but missed.

My cuz and I were out in Metzger marsh running his rat trap line. We saw a "yote" farther out on the ice. He shot it with his 223 and the thing ran away, We picked up and followed the blod trail to the edge of the marsh where it changes to Fed game refuge.

Standing there having a smoke when a DNR officer shows up on a quad and asks us what we are doing. We told him and showed him the blood trail. He said to go get it and shoot anymore we saw. Even on the Fed game refuge. 3 hours later and 2 more coyotes we found him. Warden was glad to see them dead. He was out shooting them himself. Had to bust on my cuz, was a belly shot.

Northern Ohio has them real bad. Here in upstate they are starting to get that way also.

There is counselling available for that.

Any pictures yet?

Have you been catching in the Chesapeake? We were out for the ASA/Utsches Annual Striper Tournament, Delaware bay caught a few 40's. Have been catching on regular basis 20's and 30's. Still looking for one over 50.
Did you hear of the 13 yr old girl who caught one over 53, that maybe a world record.
May know your in-laws, have lived in Warrington over 40 yrs.
