question about ts2021

I have a ts2021 on a honda 13hp. its belt driven. Its a couple years old and has always ran great but now it wont run at all hardly. I pulled out the 8 bolts that hold the head on and pulled it off and checked the white plungers and the 6 sets of packing and it all looks great. I pulled off the other bigger bolts from the head of the pump and made sure all the small black plungers were all clean and they were. Sorry if Im calling all this stuff the wrong name.. Every time I turn on the motor and run it at low rpm it will run about 1000psi so i start cranking up the rpm and the psi wont go over 1000psi.. I might be hearing some noise from the pully on the pump when I crank the motor up but Im not sure. I have a good water supply. Could you guys help me a bit here?

Are you checking the psi before or after the unloader? if after it could be a bad / stuck unloader. if you are checking before, it could be slipping belts or if it is not belt drive you could have broken your key way and it is only slipping and not building pressure. Also forgot to say, two more things to check. 1- take the cap off where the oil sight is and crank it to make sure the crank is spinning and not only part of it, 2- with the manifold off make sure the plungers are all moving back and forth to make pressure.

The water filter is clean and i have no unloader. I have no trigger guns on my rig. The key being out and it slipping is a great idea!!!! Ill check that tomorrow. All the pistons were moving freely and I will remove the glass as well to check movement.. Thanks..

These belts are old... i bet theyre slipping..

one trick to try is spray the belts with brake cleaner, if there slipping it will make them grab more. if your pressure goes up change the belts out

belts is where Im at too. I learned that the hard way

it looked to me like it was speeding up and slowing down.. I bet thats it.

Same problem this year and the screens and filters were clogged. No water flow!!

I wouldnt go below a 13hp. min rpm is 1125 max rpm is 1450. with to small of a motor you will just bog down and not get what you want out of it. most pressure washer start with a 18hp motor with the ts2021. The shaft size is .945 in / 24 mm, so that will cut down what engines you can use as well.

I have a honda 13hp and a honda clone (greyhound) 13hp hooked up to em and I use 5.5@15 degree tips for washing trucks and its nice.. I always check the screens every time I go to work... The way I tell if they are the problem is because I upsteam my soap and if I have low pressure and turn my soap valve on and get more pressure then I know its water supply.

You got me on that one, I was thinking direct drive when i wrote that. But I stand firm on the engine size

I had a good used 11hp honda that had lasted me for years and I replaced the pump that was a 4041 I think and I put a 2021 on it and wore that thing out in a couple months.. Had oil blowin out the side of it... smoked... i would do 13hp minimum for a 2021.

Even a 15HP for a 2021 is small. You can get 3250 PSI out of it but you are straining the heck out of the engine. I have mine set right at 3400 PSI with a Vanguard 18HP. I never set the pumps to run full bore.

Thank you guys so much!!!!!! it was the belt!!!
