Reset Button

John, My reset botton keeps kicking out and the battery on my 12 volt system is new so I know that is not it. Do you think the reset itself could be bad? It is the original wireing so I am think the resistance is down causing it to trip out, any imput? I have also tried a couple of new batteries.

What brand of machine is it? I've seen fuses and circuit breakers but not a reset button. An overload on the burner circuit could be several things. A fuel pump that is stiff due to contamination, an improperly sized burner coupling (too long and it will put end pressure on the motor), bad brushes in the motor, a transformer going bad, a hot lead going to ground, etc. Then again it COULD be the reset just got tired.

Okay lets try to explain this one.
Last week I had an older SS series Hydrotek come into the shop with the same problem.
I tested the amp draw from the burner and it was 15 amps while running.
The Breaker was a 15 amp.
When you pull the trigger the amp draw would spike up to 30 amps and drop down to 15 amps.
I talked to an electronics supplier and they recommended a 35 amp breaker.
So I replaced it with a 35 amp and it is working fine.
This is the reset button on the front panel.

If the red button on the fan motor is the one you are refering to, they are heat associated and the muffler could set it off if there is not a heat shield between the muffler and the burner motor.
If the burner motor has Capacitors on it they can cause the problem as well. I would replace the burner motor if it keeps poping off.
