This is a responsible manufacture of concrete cleaner. This is the front and back label of a commonly sold concrete cleaner. Just read the back label and come to your own conclusions.

What I see is no government inspection or approval of such products. I also see a company that did not have an attorney double check for wording to be sure they are not contridicting themselves. A lawsuit just waiting to happen the first time someone uses it indoors and ends up in the hospital or worst.

"Safe enough to use indoors."

"Use in well ventilated area."

"Wear rubber gloves."

"Wear impermeable clothing."

"Eye protection."

Ok ok I get it but does it WORK?

Ron who sells this anyway?

That stuff is sold by Autozone. I don't know anyone else that sells it.

Jon, you didn’t read hard enough,, its says concrete cleaner. My points here are that you need to read the label. This is concrete cleaner that they tell you not to use on concrete. And you would never use this on asphalt. Read it again please…

You guys have all gotta learn to read. It says not to use on concrete or sphalt with sealer coat. Without sealer coat it is okay to use. READ READ READ!

thanks again Zip, I wanted them to see that for themselves..

Anyway Zip has pointed that out to you guys. are there many places that dont have asphalt? where is asphalt not sealed? all asphalt has a sealed surface unless it has been warn off.

read the labels, many roof cleaners will tell you not use on a asphalt shinggled roof. yet we see and listen to contractors using these chemicals everyday.

dont assume that because it says concrete cleaner its safe.

Ron and Zippo, I did see that, so I make no comment and get my butt wrung out, and if I did comment what?

I felt it was more important to bring up where they say it is safe indoors then go on to say use in a well ventilated area, that would exclude indoors.

Oh well I don't use retail products so no worry here. I also not only read labels but before I use a product read the MSDS stuff.

I do like to know what the worst case situation is if something happens.

RON,

ASPHALT IS RE-SEALED EVERY 3 TO 5 YEARS, MOSTLY WITH A LATEX SEALER (TARCANITE) , IT HELPS KEEPS THE WATER FROM GETTING UNDER THE ASPHALT AND CAUSING CRAKING ETC.

I'VE SEEN WERE SOME CONCRETE DRIVE THRUS HAVE BEEN DONE WITH THE SEALER , THEY USE SEAL COAT TO HIDE THE OIL STANES
SO THEY DONT HAVE TO CLEAN IT .

most of these chemical wont tell you, yet they are the same base... that means you might be destroying asphalt and not know it? maybe

you now have a very important tool.. use it....

Oh Really?? *raised eyebrow*

Hmmmmmmmmm I think I'll get something from one of the suppliers here that I know... Think maybe RPC??
I have to agree with Jon, far too many contradictions, that spells T-R-O-U-B-L-E!
I have been known to take a few risks in my time, but this won't be one of them! Anyone feeling gutsy? Give it a try, let me know how it all works out....
I dont even buy autoparts from Auto Zone! LOL

Folks,

Re-read the label carefully.

To me it says:
Cleans unsealed/unpainted concrete.
Do NOT use it on sealed or coated concrete.
May or may not cause bleaching on un-sealed asphalt - test it.
Do NOT use on sealed asphalt.

How many people don't seal asphalt? - Don't know.

Phoenix, you missed it, i'm not recomending you use this. I'm telling you that this chemical company is responsible. Many chemical are the same composition and dont tell you that it will destroy things. You need to learn your chemicals.

Sorry, many suppliers here use things just like these products. are they safe? Yes if you use them correctly.

I would venture that 90% of contractors use these types of chemicals. I see destruction of property by contractors everyday.
