unloader the problem?

have read most of the unloader threads and havent found any that addresses the problem i am dealing with.... i have a excell xr2600 that works fine with the 40 degree tip - the 0 degree tip but if i use the low pressure tip the unloader doesnt sense the trigger release from the gun and makes the pump continue to produce pressure and bog the engine.... i am not sure what the tip has to do with the unloader sensing the trigger release...

I see that a lot on those machines, but really have no idea why. Run it with soap tip or no tip, and they do exactly as you describe. Use a pressure tip, and they unload properly every time. May have something to do with the unloader not being able to handle a huge pressure differential. You have the 2 cylinder aluminum pump under the plastic cover, right?

Russ you are correct on the type of pump... was wondering if my problem was unique to this machine...

Russ-
took another look at the diagram for the pump i have and there are 4 valves and a check valve all the same part number. the check valve is located at the high pressure side of the pump and is between the gun and the unloader. was thinking after what you said about the pressure differential in the earlier thread and am now thinking that may something to look at
