Some that have been suggested have a tendency to darken and brown the rails which I think looks ugly and dirty. I don't feel that it's clean unless the rails are shining, and no single step does it. Depends if your customer even knows what a trailer rail even is tho, I guess.

Sometimes people think that if a little cleans good, a lot must clean even better...and then go "Ooooops! I hope they don't notice that!" or "Maybe I'll just blame it on the sun bleaching them out!" One thing in our favor now tho is that paint quality has improved greatly so it allows the surfaces to be cleaned much easier than it used to be.

Not wanting to hijack the thread, but which do you think washes up better: Aluminum skin or FRP trailers?

The brown streaks are caused by a reaction of the strong caustic burning the aluminium, you will need a brightner to remove these stains.

I think the aluminium by far is easier to clean.

I would have to agree with you there! Sometimes the FRP's are so weathered that it is difficult to break the dirt loose.
