I had a guy contact me for the second time about cleaning his roof. But only the dirty half. Is this a recommended procedure. The customer is always right......Right? Any opinions?
I seem to fall along your lines Tim. though of course I wash the entire section I mostly do one side of the roof. I feel I would be taking their money if I was to wash the south side that looked brand new.I specialize in half roofs. It's eighty percent of our roofs. That's all that's needed here in my area. We do wash the second half for half price. If I told you what we get paid to wash the dirty half, you'd tell me I was half full of it.
Ever go into a deli and order half a sub and they insist that what was best for you was a whole one? It's not the same thing because here half a roof costs three quarters as much as a whole roof.
Apparently things are different where people from here move to.
We wash the street facing half from time to time, usually the person is putting the house on the market and doesn't care too much that it won't stay clean as long without cleaning the whole thing. Educate, price accordingly, and let the customer decide what they want.

I prefer to do the whole roof, and won't give a warranty unless we do. With that being said, we will do a half roof because like many here we don't like to leave money on the table. If a customer is dead set on half only after educating them then so be it!

Chris, did you get your burner straightened out?
Nope! Gonna mess with it in the AM. It's under warranty, but I need to figure out if I gotta take in the whole machine or just the the blower motor.

sure you have options, clean half a roof or let someone else do it.Thanks for the input. At least now I have options when discussing price.
