    Belt Tensioner

We have gone all tailstock w/ handle wheel for belt tensioners. When we start from scratch, it's easy to use what we have from broken lathes or old industrial equipment from auctions. We just got a Landa machine that I'm a little excited about, but I refuse to go back to the old pump rail...

Extra Boost to a Hot Box?

I'm curious about running my engine exhaust through my hot box to add a little extra heat rise...why waste the heat? We have operated out of enclosed trailers, vans, and box trucks for some time. We have solved exhaust problems in many different ways. I recently saw a picture from someone on...

After watching this we should all feel rich !!

That's really popular here. I'd say 1 in 10 here have a bag hanging at the back door. I spent 2 years in the Philippines and if you think that looks poor, you should see the northern provinces! We actually installed those bottle lights in a market place while I was there. Here's a pic of a...

    New Toy!

I just picked up a Landa SDHW6-35824E with the three-cylinder Lombardini LDW903 diesel engine. It is currently inoperable, but I'm hoping to change that! I've been planning on going all diesel for some time. This wasn't exactly the plan, but the opportunity arose. I've got a decent diesel shop...

    Need your "Dirty" pictures

Here's a picture of the hinge kit. The photo isn't very revealing, but the electrical conduit is not long enough to actually tilt the fan. Not only is the hinge kit useless, it actually inhibits access to the duct and fan blades! Brilliant!

    Need your "Dirty" pictures

Here's one we're negotiating a rehab price on. This might be my first photo post on this forum...wow! The nozzles were so greased over, the pressure from the ansul system wouldn't have been able to break the seal! The links never would have broken they were so encased, and had they managed to...

    Flatbed Truck Help

I'm looking for a mythical truck! I need to put together a new truck in about 8 months. I've been looking at the Isuzu NPR flatbed and that has been the base so far. However, I don't need the 12-15k GVW. I was hoping to find something a little more efficient and agile. Does anyone know of a...

    Engines for parts!

In case anyone is interested! Here is a link to ebay. We are selling our old Honda GX670 engine (and a second for parts). It's really only good for parts! Engine runs, but has a bad cylinder. These are no longer being produced, so having some cheap parts might keep yours alive a little longer...

    Another Burner Issue

I've got a becket 110v diesel burner with flow switch, adj. thermostat. It turns on with blower working, igniter runs great, and fuel pump runs consistent with blower. When flow switch is activated, the burner would fire for about 2 seconds and stop. The same happens when I "by-pass" flow sensor...

    Hitchhiking to NOLA!?!

Is anyone passing through Tallahassee, FL (I-10) on their way to NOLA this month that might have an extra seat?

    Heater exhaust

We just reloaded a hot water machine into a cargo van. We re-attached the old duct work that we used for the last machine in this van. The duct is just air-conditioning ducts from a home store, wrapped in insulation. It's not a great fit and leaks.... Long story short, I'm curious if anyone is...

    Ouch!

Is anyone else unfortunate enough to recognize this? It cracked and leaked a molten metal on to the fly wheel. It smoked the white smoke of electronic death, then gave a brief billow of black smoke... I'm just curious, is this a problem that comes with age, or is this a symptom of something...

    Engine Trouble (Honda 24)

Ok, I've got a Honda 24 hp engine that idles just fine, but when under stress (gun open and water flowing) the rpm's drop drastically and the throttle body opens wide as if it can't get enough fuel. Any suggestions? We recently wired for remote start/stop as well as basic maint. oil change...

    Chemical Delivery

Gentlemen of the Roof Cleaning World (or anyone pushing chemicals long distances up hill), I'm a hood cleaner using an air powered pump to deliver caustics about 150ft from the truck. It's a diaphragm pump with max air of 100 psi, and flow of 3gpm. The chem inlet is 3/8 and the outlet is 1/4...

    Tire Scuffs

What's the best way to remove lots of tire scuffs from concrete? Both well cured and new concrete. Painted (primed) concrete and bare concrete?
