I Was Wrong

I was under the mistaken assumption the Sodium Hypochlorite cleaned better at LOWER PH's.
This is incorrect http://www.jstage.jst.go.jp/article/sfj/58/8/465/_pdf
Cleaning is better at HIGH Ph, but Disinfection is better at lower ph's.
This does not really effect Apple Sauce, just MY understanding of WHY it works.
Apple Sauce is fixing to get improved anyway.
We have been testing something that might make Apple Sauce "obsolete"
This new sauce might or might not stay clean as long as Apple Sauce, but from alll feedback we are getting, it cleans as well, and most say better
It is a LOT easier to make, no more mixing powders of any kind.
I am interested in Beta Testers before we put it out there.
If you are a working roof cleaner, all you have to do is ask.
Even Local Competitors can participate , WTF

Ok, too many responses to handle individually, so here is the Theory http://www.freepatentsonline.com/5376296.html
So far, we have found that 1 to 2 percent Isopropyl Alcohol to be optimum.
This means 1 to 2 gallons per hundred galons of mix.
Mix should be 35 Gallons Sodium Hypochlorite, 63 Gallons water, and 1 to 2 gallons Isopropyl Alcohol for 100 gallons mix
Laurel Betaine is the preferred surfactant, but Ajax dish soap, NOT Ajax dish AND Hand Soap seems to work ok.
Ajax is the dish soap with the highest percentage of Ethanol.
Be sure cap is ventilated, and do NOT think "if some is good, MORE is better"
It MAY be, but I must caution you, you could make a Bomb and go BOOM.
This a a more "pump friendly" mix then regular Apple Sauce.
Because it cleans so well, I have NOT tried this mix with TSP added.
It seemed un necessary.
The surfactant in the Ajax cleaned nicely.
But WTF, why dont someone try it with, and w/o TSP ?
If adding TSP, you dont really need the Ajax.I suggest 4 ounces TSP per gallon of total mix.

Have you run this by ARMA?

If not does everyone using it intend to remove the "ARMA" approved sthick from their ads?

Lol, NO One really uses an "ARMA Approved" solution to clean roofs with.
The "Arma Approved" solution is FAR too weak for a commercial roof cleaner to use.
What most people are TRYING to say I think is they use ARMA Approved Chemicals
Interestingly enough, Tamko Roofing Products USED an Alcohol in it's Roof Cleaning system it once offered contractors.

Chris,

Jimmy here in Jaguarville(Jax). The other day on the phone you said that the "old world sauce" would not be something you suggest putting through the chemical bandit. How about this new formulation? Would it be bandit friendly?

Yes Jimmy !
A roller pump like the bandit uses depends on almost microscopic clearances.
Just ONE piece of undissolved Borax/TSP can ruin a roller pump
This New sauce is way more "pump friendly", and easier to make.
I feel it has superior cleaning propertys to the old Apple Sauce.
If it keeps the roofs clean as long, I do not know.
But many of you said you didnt care about that
IF you are gonna try it Jimmy, be SURE and come back with your experiences, both good and bad, ok ?
be SURE cap is ventilated on tank too ?

I will give you a breakdown of how the new soup works.
Can my soap be simple cherry?
By the way. I will still be a Jag when I move so I think with me sonding like a hillbilly, liking Southern football teams might make things interesting up North. I actually have a friend who plays for the Eagles who I played against in HS here. Brian Dawkins, so I might have to show some love huh?

Chris I think you might be wrong

I took the mix of SH, water ajax and isopropyl alchohol washed the roof, came back 2 hours later and did one half of the roof with the same mix but with a lowered PH (lowered from 12 down to 5) had my chemist mix it for me. You can see a huge difference from driving down the road its clean then REALLY clean. So Chris I think you might be wrong, but right the first time. I think the pic is the proof!

I sent you an email, but get the Ajax dish soap, not the dish and hand soap.
Reason ?
The dish soap has more Ethanol, and a different surfactant I am told.
Use 2 bottles of the larger size
Then you need from 1/2 to 1 gallon Rubbing Alcohol.
This is the best we know at THIS time.
Beta testers are reporting back in, and as new data comes to light, we will pass it on.

Jeff,

My wife and I were talking about your post/picture. We were wondering if you went back and cleaned the right half with the original solution, without vinigar, if you would have had the same result, just by cleaning it twice? Whaddua think?

Also, Does anyone know what effect, if any, alcohol has on the plants/grass on top of Sh? Does it make the mix more or less harmful?
