Alkota Skids

This is the first I have heard of a Honda engine not being any good.....I have a 20 hp honda on my Alkota and a 18 HP Briggs on my other Alkot......Use hte 20 hp 90% of the time. Have not had a problem with either unit!!!

Think Ill trash my Honda and get me an engine from Harbour Freight, believe Ill purchase the extended warranty though

if you buy a motor from harbour freight always get the extended warranty because you definitely will need it.

Chinese Engines: Dee Dee Dee DEE !

Harbor freight engine failure-stories have been flowing into our service center,, not so many of the actual engines thiough..
the ewngines seem to fail SO quickly, the owner has already replaced it before he even shows at out shop..
I think the same guys also know I'll laugh and point if they DID bring it in ! ...:haha: Dee Dee Dee DEE !

Back on the point of this thread..
I like Alkota.. strong units, and great people !
I like My Bulldogs better, but they are quality competition.

and Gear boxes.. develop horrible oil leaks..
If you pick up some form of brain-death that makes you think you just HAVE to have 'em..
use synthetic oil that is, synthetic 90wt.
what they DON'T like is cavitation.. if you pressure-feed, they last longer, and run cooler.
If you tank feed, don't whine like a mobile detailer when it spews a seal.

Hmm.. it there an emoticon for tweekers !?? :rotflmao1:

So far I've got about 150 hrs on a harbor freight 11hp coil cleaning setup. I can't tell the difference between it and the honda it replaced.

My thinking was that for $231 I can go through three of them for the same cost as one honda. AND have the luxury of stopping at the local HF and picking one up and bolting it on the truck in minutes if it takes a crap. The time thing was just as important to me as the cost.
