going wireless

I don't have a printer in the truck but I can e-mail bids from the truck.

I got two cans and a string. We might can reach from your house to mine.
For the printer, I have a box of #2 printers in the desk. How much extension chord would you need for that anyways?

Everyone knows that how we do it in ALABAMA.

That was too funny Big Ash. hahaha

On a serious note though, I really would like to get the wireless service so I could do things a little more modern.

I would like to be able to print out invoices or proposals from the truck and/or email them at the same time if needed.

Not sure what I would need but the first step would be getting a laptop and small printer, the rest I do not have a clue.

Yeah I would love to see some pics of peoples printers setup in their vehicles. It is something I want to setup in mine.

when you get it all set up post some pics and info. I am looking at doing the same thing.

I bought a Lexmark 3 in 1 printer (scanner, copier, printer) at walmart that is wireless. I am sure there are higher models that have a fax also.

My Verizon carrier has a card for my laptop at $39.99/month for minimal usage or $59.99/month for almost unlimited usage for me to go wireless anywhere in the country. The Catch is you have to go with a 2 year contract. I'm probably going to go with the $59.99 a Month and of course write it off as a business expense. The drawback is I have two guys working at night and I keep everything running..now with the ability to have the laptop online in the truck I may never come out:)

Guys,

Keep in mind security when you go wireless, when transmissions go from one spot to another, they aren't necessarily encrypted, and usually aren't. Especially those of you doing accounting from a wireless hot spot, all of the transmissions can easily be picked up by someone else in the vicinity and you would never know it was happening.
