Help! The lines continue!

Lol, it was your post! Lots of great info in it, i'm just new to tinkering with mine.

I will have to go pick up a gauge tomorrow. My pump is only 4gpm. My sc is 24" with two arms. I think my swivel does have a small leak, and it is a little loose (I can wiggle the arms up/down about 1/8" or so). I replaced the nozzles last week. Not sure how to gauge what the unloader is set at. I was going to take it to the Landa dealer and have them do a tune up on it soon. Thanks for the great info Nigel.

Been out, you are on the right track.

This is a great post with a lot of good info but with everything that i have read my issue is still not resolved. I have a brand new 8 gpm 3000psi unit and a WW classic with 2545's 150ft of hose 90 degree elbow on swivel and nothing leaks but i still get to much lift and lines. I understand lines will happen and i have read a ton of post on this subject but i cant seem to get my sc to operate as it should without fighting it. I did 4000 sqft of concrete this last weekend and it turned out great with minimal lines but i was beyond sore from fighting my sc. Does anyone use weights on there sc's or am i just using to small of a sc for my gpm? I also read someone mention that the water is hitting the skirt or side of the sc and causing lines, anyway to avoid this without a tip change? Only reason i ask is most the concrete in my area is 20-40 years old.

I know Nick puts a weight on top of the surface cleaner to help hold it down.

A good rule of thumb is 4" of surface cleaner deck for every 1gpm of pressure washer.

I would use a 24" or 28" surface cleaner with 8gpm. You clean a little wider path so a few less overlap stripes total per job.

I know guys that have run 40 degree fan patterns but it sounds like you might want to use less overlap and maybe size the nozzles a little larger for less pressure if there is some cream coming off the concrete.

8 gpm @ over 3000 psi is too much for any plastic floater.
Mosmatic makes a 21" stainless floater that might work.
Being stainless steel, it has more weight to keep from flying like the others.

I think I saw an olympic plate, not sure if it was 5 or 10 pounds on the classic, sitting around the swivel to help hold it down when working.
