how many employees do you have?

I have 5 employees - 4 labor & 1 secretary.

8 employees-seems like 100

Is there anything left to be washed in Selma?
:)

True dat.

So Mobile is a little too far for you, huh? A friend of mine lives there (I grew up about 30 miles from Mobile in MS) and when I visited recently I saw a ton of work to be done. I told him that he needs to get on it, but he didn't listen.

Maybe if he doesn't I will!
:)

I'm pretty sick of Katrinaville and ready for a change of scenery.

Nope, not anywhere close to 25 or 30. I had 8 employees at the start of the summer, and needed 2 more. I walked away from one account, that was big, but a pain, and had 5 quit due to college internships, one got married and moved, etc. I am down to three full time employees and me. I am VERY tired and constantly paying OT

YEP ,Mobile is about 3 hours or 180 miles away ,it would be a great taeget area.....it and baldwin county are virtually untapped markets....something for you to think about Thad

Just me, the wife helps when I need it. I can see needing one good guy to work with me full time possibly next year. But let me ask you guys a question: When do you draw the line between too many employees and a shriking bottom line? I've read some posts with guys who have x amount of employees and don't make as much as they did when it was just themselves and maybe one other guy. How much net income does another rig and two more guys really add if any?

I have 3 full time and my work is pretty consistant, fleets mostly. As far as adding additional crews, I guess that all depends on the workers you hire, some are more productive than others. You probably need them to bring in about 4-6x their pay a day to really be able to offset all the expenses and headaches.

I believe the trick to what I'm trying to accomplish is going to be this way. You guys chime in if I'm totally missing something or just way off base. I can take constructive critisism, believe me I want to learn. Here is what I'm finna try:

Me and helper....train my helper to become me, let him take the lead role on crew. Once I see that I can trust him as lead guy, hire him a helper and train him. Once that crew is up and running, hire another guy to work with me on 2nd crew as lead guy. If/when all goes well with his position, hire him a helper and so on.....eventually so I can get off of the truck full time and consentrate on working "on" my business rather than working "in" my business. The areas that I cover would be able to handle the work-load of about 2-3 crews max and that's fine with me. If I can have 2-3 crews out there everynight plugging away, I'll will be happy(er) :) I don't want to be a Grant with 5000 people working for me :D

5000 is an exageration
