I Order a 12" SC, But What I Got Is A Helicopter

My 20" was taking off also. The 90 helped a lot but it was still lifting the back end. I ended up putting 5 lbs on the rear.

Chris, I wonder why it only lifted in the rear?

Now that you have a weight on just one part of it does it float ok?

As I said in my first post, I want to hold full pressure. So I'm going to try weights first.

To attach that weight it looks like you drilled through the deck?

Hey Ted, my 20" does the same thing when running 10gpm.
5lb weight and 200' of hose keeps it in the ground and it floats ok. In the 150' range it would take off when the ball valve first opened up then it was fine.
100' forget about it.

No elbow installed.

Thanks Chad. What did you use for weight and location/method of attachment?

Before I installed the 90 it would fly straight up. Once I put the 90 on the flow is now pushing forward not down. So it would lift the back end.

Smooth as silk. Hauls ass!

I tried 40's and still took off. I wanted too run 25's so had too do what I could. I've got a video of it flying, Will see if I can figure out how too post it.

Chad whats your setup. We should meet up next time Im through Knoxville.

Sure no problem.
3 5gpm machines. 2 cold, 1 hot. So occasionally I hook 2 of my 5gpm machines together and one of my helpers uses the 3rd one. Big time saver.

5lb weight strapped to the swivel to keep it down evenly. I was also experiencing front/rear take off at times.
I like the idea of a 3 bar. I bet it would clean better too.

I've got two 20" 3-bar BEs and they work great. But I don't think a 3-bar 12" SC is made?

I think youre right. Even if they did I don't think it would help with the SC being so small

I got the chopper grounded, but too much weight. Used six 1.25# dumbbell weights, for a total of 7.5#. Was too heavy and dragged.

Also, I stacked the weights front and back (3 each) and the side to side motion was no good.

Pulled off two of the weights and reconfigured the remaining four (5 total pounds). We're working tomorrow, so I'll try it out then.

Weights are now right.

First experience with a floater and also with a machine smaller than 20". It's great for cutting in really close along walls and such (fast), plus works really good over undulating surfaces. Is a real buzz saw tearing up thick moss - rips the chit out of it.

Only downside is lots of splatter from moss sludge.

Sometimes I wish they would mow the sidewalks first

This job was asphalt, and as with concrete we always try first to shovel off as much of the moss from the surface as possible.

Between the two, asphalt is by far the worst because it's so porous. The sludge comes boiling up out of the surface.
