if the UAMCC membership was Lower would you JOIN?

I have talked to contractors and the price was not a real issue, some wanted more benefits like discounts at places where they buy stuff for their business like Grainger, Discount Tires, More insurance companies for better selection and possibly start a pool for contractors around the country so maybe it would be more affordable for contractors, their families and their employees, Hotels, Airlines, Home Depot, Lowes, etc...... places like this is where they will see huge benefits in discounts for their companies, places where they spend money on a regular basis from what I have been told.

I get calls from 5 to 10 guys every week from around the country asking questions about getting into the business, doing things different with their business or just complimenting me on the video of the aluminum wheel cleaning and how they can get the same system.

I ask them if they are a UAMCC member and if not why? Those reasons I mentioned above are some of the reasons they have mentioned, also a lot of the new guys getting into the business are just getting started and don't have a lot of money but I do tell them to check out the site and see the benefits, they might be surprised of how much they will save by joining.

One of the things I heard most was that they would like benefits that they would use often to save money like the places I mentioned above and other places they purchase things for their business. I forgot some of the places they mentioned but posted the places I remembered.

In your business, where do you spend money on a regular basis, that is where they would like to save money.

Tires for the truck (s), trailer(s) are only once a year or so, depending on how many units you have and when the tires wear out. I was going through tires on trailers about every 12 to 18 months with the regular tires but earlier this year bought some more expensive, more-ply tires (I think either 8 or 10 ply) instead of the 6 ply tires.

I was told that they would last a lot longer and I bought the certificate from Discount Tires so they would be replaced until the minimum tread depth by just paying the insurance certificate (about $24.00) each tire so I am hoping I get at least 2 or more years out of these tires. They did cost about $25.00 more each tire but I think they will last a lot longer than the regular trailer tires I was buying.

I just bought a set of truck tires for my Dodge 2500 and had to get the better, stronger tires but went with a more of a highway tire this time instead of the Nitto's that are more of an offroad tire so they should last a lot longer as I don't go offroad that much anymore for work.

A tire discount would be nice in this situation but realistically, I probably will not buy tires in the next year or two but it is possible for the box truck with the dually's in the back, they have good tread but I think they are old and the age might do them in so I am not sure a tire discount (if that is possible) would be helpful for me but I think throughout the organization, there are probably at least 50 or more contractors that could use it this year or at any given time.

I think it would help if we promoted the org more as what it is - an association of all mobile contract cleaners. That means talking it up more for window cleaners, carpet cleaners, etc. I am very pleased to have the expanded window cleaning section on the forum now as that helps other window cleaners see a benefit to the forum area.
Al - I think you're going to find politics everywhere. It's about who brings the politics. In the case of the UAMCC it's the haters stirring trouble and the org not laying down for it. When the UAMCC stands up for what's right then all of a sudden it's politics.

Agree, after we promote to customers 2014 I imagine all people will be on board.

I agree, it is a few that are there just to cause trouble saying they are looking for proof of this or that, saying they have proof of this or that but will never show any proof of anything, they are there just to cause trouble because that is what their handlers make them do, one day maybe they will grow up and mature and think for themselves, until then they just do what they are told and then call other people drama queens but when you look at it, they are the people causing the drama and trouble, just mindless drones doing what they are told to do, O Well.

This forum has been great for a while now since some of the trouble makers were booted out, sure is nice without all that nonsense, lies and arguing about having proof of this or that and just lying the whole time. How sad.

It is great here now and it is nice that people are getting along great again.

as a newbie with a tight budget i feel the price of the membership is more than reasonable. Just look at all the discounts and free gifts you get for joining not to mention all the knowledge/help you get from the members. For me it was a no brainer.

Maybe post a link to the UAMCC member benefits page a sticky here on PWI somewhere so people can find it easy, I have a hard time finding it myself when I look.

Has that page been updated recently?
