My Hammerhead stopped.

Ralph, maybe you can take that thing back to the store and complain so you get your money back (good thing you did not use it with zero degree nozzles, that would have caused a lot of permanent damage) and go and buy a Classic for about the same money and later on, get the kit to convert your hammerhead to the mosmatic swivel, plate and spray bar and it will last a long time also.

I cannot believe that Northern wants that much money for that surface cleaner, knowing that commercial units by reputable brands are about the same price.

I agree Ralph, you cannot get into the corners with those huge wheels but even the best surface cleaners will only get you into about an inch or less from the edge but you can tilt the classic on it's edge and let the spray hit the wall (lift up right side some to hit right side wall to get all of the surface) then rinse. With those plastic wheels, they are going to get worn fast when you do a lot of concrete, if they have bearings, they might get a lot of dirt and sand in them fast also.

Feel free to call one of us to ask questions before you make purchases, we can probably help you come up with other ideas or solutions.

Good luck.

Got a driveway and a pool deck tomorrow and a driveway on saturday, so I need it, If I could take it back I would, I just heard bad stuff about trying to return things there. At home depot I could use the thing for a week and bring it back with no questions asked. Believe me I was cursing the whole time knowing I could have bought a classic. This thing actually cleans pretty good. I think it is because it has a 20" housing but a 18" rotary arm. That hammerhead gets extremely close to walls and is very good at going over uneven surfaces. I'm definitely going to get a whisper wash, just can't swing it right now because business is slow and I gotta make sure I can pay my bills. I like the whisper wash Aqua Force, 24" . Thanks for all the help Chris, the guys here are awesome.

For about the same money you could have bought a Whisper Wash Classic which is about the same size as the hammerhead (they make the 18" and 20"), the Classic has a cleaning path of 19" and has a far superior swivel than both the hammerhead and northern tool as this is a commercial surface cleaner, only downside is you would have to wait a day or so if your vendor is out of stock.

They are made there in Clearwater or Tampa, forgot which city but they are a great surface cleaner and last many years and when the swivel is worn out, they have a cartridge that you can change out in less than 10 minutes, they have a video on youtube showing you how to do it yourself with a couple tools:

Whisper wash is my first choice. Ralph get a whisper wash as soon as you can.

I'm running the ultra clean with casters, cleans great but with no skirt it soaks siding with dirty water if I'm up close- also my legs up to my knees. I have a classic on the way.

I don't think a brush skirt is available for that model but you could probably get the brush skirt for the Classic with the rivets and cut it to fit and attach it to your surface cleaner. The brush skirt will help a lot with the water spraying out from under it and also help with a lot of the rocks flying out also. I think the skirt is about $70.00

I thought about doing something like that. I have only had surface cleaners with casters- so I went with a new classic to see if I like floaters any better.

For the price of a conversion you're better off getting a Classic to start with.
But since you already have the HH you might as well convert it.

That's why I asked. I just might sell the blue lagoon! After using the hydrotek scrubber, I feel I'm working to hard with my blue monster.

Brought back the jalopy. Told them the zero degrees nozzles tore up a customers driveway They gave me a credit for $100 towards another Hammerhead, then I found a $50 coupon code while I was waiting in the store. Ended up getting another Hammerhead for $265! I will probably go for the conversion kit when biz picks up. After using floater for the last 6 months and then using one with casters, I definitely prefer the floater. Anyone use a whisper wash Aqua Pro? WHEN I upgrade to an 8 GPM, I think thats the one I want. Is that the biggest floater they make?

Why did you go to walmart to buy tools for your professional occupation? Why do you not take responsibility for your own actions? How are they liable for you choosing not to invest in professional equipment?

Curious.
First of all, northern tool isn't. Walmart. We all have to start somewhere. I think a hammerhead gets the job done and I'm willing to put one of my driveway cleanings against yours any day. Second of all, I don't think anyone is stupid enough to use zero degree nozzles on a surface cleaner. That didn't happen. That was just a heads up to the people who sold it too me. That they aren't the right nozzles for a surface cleaner. I didn't expect a credit or anything. They just gave it to me. I know you're the most professional guy on the bulletin boards, so go back to work and if you really don't' t have anything constructive to say, please don't post in any of my threads, thank you.

You expect professional results. You use amateur equipment.

My 5 year old whisper wash classic refuses to quit.

I am trying to do as you say, give guys a heads up.

Don't expect professional results from walmart like homeowner grade equipment.

You come on a professional board and state that you lied to the clerk at the homeowners equipment store and then took the discount that they gave you.

Don't be hollering at me for pointing out the discrepancies in your story.

No it is a northstar 5 gpm 3000 direct drive pump I replaced on a 13 hp honda engine I had. Now I have two engines and three pumps.

Watch out CL, you better not tell anyone you have northstar equipment or somebody might call you a walmart shopping, homeowner equipment buying, amateur.

Ok. I have that engine with a cat 66dx @4 GPM, trying to figure how to increase my psi from 3000 to 3500

Don't take it personal Ralph.

My first pressure washer of the modern era is a Northstar 3.2 gpm. There is nothing wrong with starting there.

Just please, quit going back.
