New Ride on Surface machine by Bill Clemmons

I was just looking for that info this morning, wondering who does the one on the turbo twister and the swabby, as well as the smaller 24" one. The owner at turbo twister said they started out using dueblin, but the switched to another brand but he did not say.

That is very cool!

How long can you clean before filling up with water again?

That would be so great for HOA's and houses along the golf courses, very quiet except for the surface cleaner.

Got any other pictures of it?

Thanks.

No more pictures, really its quite simple.
  • 1 120 gallon tank
  • 1 8.5 GPM 24 HP Honda
  • 1 30" surface cleaner
  • some machine work, hoses and what nots.

Nice machine.

I remember you posted those pics before, I did not recognize you because of your avatar, back then your avatar was one of you in a big straw hat, right.

Yup, no one recognized me at the MB RT last year w/o the hat.

Here a link for a stander mower for sale.....48 inch 4800.00 thats a deal.

Who all makes a pulley type spinder for a surface cleaner?

That would work nicely, kind of overkill since you can make the surface cleaner deck out of steel or aluminum so it really will not be that heavy and you don't need a lot of speed because you want to go at a speed where you don't have the swirl marks so you could get by with a smaller machine.

the trick here guys, unlike that mosmatic picture, is to have ALL the same size SC's.
If one is smaller than the others it will have more RPM and clean better.

I know this and tested it. Make your own deck and have 3 12" swivels for a 34~36" path.
a 12" will spin like crazy and you'll be able to move quicker w/o loading up the carbs in the cart/mower.

Our cart is electric. Runs all day at a snails pace.

That is what I was thinking about, 3 spray bars at 12" to 16" each so they will spin faster so you can move faster.

I called up Nigel and we talked about this for a while and he agrees also, glad you did the testing already. Cool!

Chris I was thinking more like these mowers......These mowers are made by wright. One is a stand on type other is a sit type personally i've never owned a wright. I am sure both would do the job. The exmark that was pictured is a great mower too........

Do you mean to put the spray bar where the blade is and use the factory deck?

Or attach a s.c. to the front or back?

Excellent point David, I did not think about that, so intrigued with the cleaning path.

thinking, it may be possible to get the smaller surface cleaner in the mosmatic photo to spin slower by reducing the energy input and have it equivalent to the one of the bigger ones, but that would require some fluid dynamics calculations, you would have to pass less flow to the smaller unit, but even then I dont think you you get it dead on.

Better safe than sorry and do what David suggest.

Bill Clemmons?????????? Has anyone had any succes with getting Bill Clemmons to call you back????????????????? I have left 5 messages on his cell trying to purchase a piece of equipment and can't get a return call........ Customer Service???????

Lori

Lori,
Bill Clemmons was in the hospital with a blood clot that traveled thru his heart just recently. It should have killed him. This was a few weeks ago. Thry again and call him and leave him the message that John Tornabene told you to call. His health is starting to come back...but when he tells you the story he probably should have died. Every day we live the luckier we are....Call him back.

That is good info to know, hope he has a speedy recovery, I hate to hear about people in hospitals, some of those nurses have no sympathy and terrible bedside manners. I do not know if they are just jaded from the constant supply of people in bad health and that is how they deal with it or what, I do not know.

Last year I was in the hostpital almost a month with my son's surgeries and helped take care of him, I went home for a few hours to shower and give a couple estimates and then get back to the hospital to be there with him all nite the whole time he was in there, some of the nurses were ok but most of them lacked emotion and sincerity.

You could probably do either, just have to measure the areas for the spray bars. If you wanted the belt drive swivels, I think that only Steel Eagle sells them (Deublin swivels) but it might be easier to have a deck built to swap out with the mower blade deck.

That is a good point about using the same size spray bars so one is not spinning faster than the others and cleaning more and possibly leaving a cleaner area as you go.

You want the cleaners where you can see them( if front). Think about doing 300 feet of SW and turning around to do the other half and seeing that you went to fast.

BTW the machines are more about operator fatigue than speed.
The cleaning pace is about the same. The person is not dragging hoses all day. That alone makes the process faster.
The one we built was able to go for 30-35 minutes of runtime. Did miles of SW and never got tired :thud:, or dirty
