New you tube video

Here is the perfect example of what I'm talking about. I do NOT endorse this product or Montel Williams, but this marketing is some of the best I've ever seen.

If something is working for you guys, don't change it. Test it constantly, but don't just up and change it. However, I can tell you from my experience and from the knowledge I've gained in the last few years of studying under people like Dan Kennedy, Brian Tracey, Chet Holmes and others that the stuff I talk about works.

Personal Example:
I was hired to do some freelance marketing by a friend of mine who owns a local business in March. I take care of EVERYTHING when it comes to their advertising and marketing. They have went from being brand new with $0 revenue in March, to $104,000 of gross revenue last month. This company is kicking arse, BIG TIME! I don't have any formal marketing training, but I've spent the last few years reading, learning and watching guys that are the best of the best. It's bound to rub off on me, right? :)

Again, if you think something is working for you, keep it going, but I can't think of a single HUGE money making infomercial, advertisement, etc that does that throws up a slide show with some head banging music behind it.

Great info guys!

Glad to know that you are keeping the best info for your customers Joe, great idea.

I don't know how to say this specifically but I think in these times and especially the younger you go, much marketing styles from the recent past come off stiff or gimmikky or just look 'scammy' somewhat? The media and internet make people somewhat impervious to pitches - everyones literally seen it in a million iterations, much of them questionable. But its never been easier or more important to try more different cool things and individually target parts of the market. Ant, good ideas as always.

Ant, you've got a good head on your shoulders. I'm glad to hear you are going the direction of learning from true professionals who have made things work. That's what used to run our country until we were brainwashed with the concept that the only way we can learn something is from some tenured professor who never really did anything productive in the real world. Keep up the good work!

Cool video, but couldn't really tell before & after shots. Also I think your spelling "guarenteed", is supposed to be spelled "guaranteed", not sure though so don't hold me to it.:thumbup2:

I like it! I agree it would have been helpful to be able to tell more difference between the before and after areas.

Good video but I agree you can't tell the before I understand it would be hard to with that color tile.
We have a couple of commercial account that want us to do the restrooms and we are always knocking out the grout. How do you keep from doing so. Our psi is 3500 what is yours?
3600 psi@8.5gpm

Delineation is often hard to accomplish, and especially with this job. That is something I push hard for when I teach, is how to sell something that the customer may not be able to see. There are alot of factors that need to be addressed not only when you are selling a job like this, but the follow through is very important, and ya just gota know what you are talking about, cause, it will often mean the difference between a job you get paid for , and one you may not.I can remember when I started doing tile I didn't get paid a few times cause I couldn't show any clear delineation and got alot of shrugged shoulders. It is still one of the more difficult things I deal with to this day, I have a few guys that sub contract for me and at least once a week I am stuck with dealing with a customer always on the phone, that I am explaining what we did for them. The backside of this situation is that most of these customers are also monthly exterior accounts, so the fine line of making a disgruntled customer happy for the sake of the perceived bad tile/kitchen cleaning and keeping them as an exterior customer is an art.:deadhorse:

Great info guys!

A gnarly kitchen floor really looks dramatic, I would have guessed that was where the most jobs were at.

Kitchens are part of the deal. And I wouldnt even know where to beging when it comes to gnarly kitchens, dramatic seems to only work in the movies, cause we have transformed some places from a disgusting pug sty to a diamond in the ruff, and still had to sue for our $$$$$$.
This is a vid http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oozaNx3_R-0of some bad kitchens & dining areas, take a peek, you just think you have seen the bad of the bad, and all of these were operating restaurants, one of them was a major clean that we had to shut it down for a few days, we worked 24/7 for 4 days to get it done, it was a corporate take over of a franchise, what a mess. We took everything out all equipment, storage, stock EVERYTHING. And if anyone ever asks, is there $$ in doing tile and kitchen cleaning, yea there a few pennies in it:dirol:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oozaNx3_R-0

And ya gota remember, we don't do hoods, thats too dirty for us.

Joe, I bet if you made a video of one of your employees eating bacon and eggs off the floor after cleaning you'd make an impression! :) :0

Well thats just not KOSHER:rotflmao1:
