This week we completed training with some other Texas Contractors and now are Certified by the City of Houston to Clean Roofs in the Houston Metro Area.

We also are Certified to Pressure Clean and Softwash Anything in the Houston Metro area.

The training Seminar was intense and comprehensive covering all the needed requirements.

25 years of experience and now Certified by the authority of the city of Houston & federal and state EPA to Clean Roofs professionally.

Cleaning Contractors must have this Certification or they are breaking the law of the city. Its required by the state of TX. The State of TEXAS works on a multi task force Along with the federal EPA continuing to enforce contractors and citizens breaking the laws.

We are proud to say that we are one of the first roof cleaners in the state of TEXas to carry this certificate.

Clean and Green Solutions is a Certified Pressure Washer for Houston TX

Clean and Green Solutions of Kingwood TX has been certified by the City of Houston for Pressure Washing and Roof Cleaning in the City of Houston, TX. Clean and Green Solutions takes great pride in attaining this Certification from the 3rd largest City in the U.S.

Clean and Green Solutions, servicing all of the greater Houston, TX area, was certified in May of 2010 and received re-certificaton in March of 2011 as part of our continuing education program.

Centex Pressure Washing Service has taken the training and is now Certified also to Power Wash in the Greater Houston Area.

I estimated there were about 80 participants at the seminar. Some companies had multiple individuals present. There were a few companies from out of state which had interest in Houston.

There were several agencies at the Seminar:
City of Houston - ( HPD ) Environmental Investigation Unit
City of Houston - Public Works, Public Liaison
TCEQ - Texas Commission on Environmental Quality
TPDES - Texas Pollutant Discharge Elimination System
EPA - Environmental Protection Agency

It was obvious that the several City agencies were not on the same page. There is a lot of confusion in their system. But isn't this a common occurrence with government? One hand gives you the common sense BMP answer to a particular procedure while the other hand wants to write you a citation.

Justification of the existence of these agencies and their pay checks is what it's all about.

The idea that a pressure washing company generates any substancial pollutants is assinine. the real polluters generate more in one hour than any cleaning company could in a life time. It's all about money always has always will be. The real polluters have big pockets to buy off or hire lawyers to get them out of any trouble. If the powers that be really wanted to put a stop to the real polluters they would have shut down BP the moment they blatantly dumped millions of gallons of oil in the gulf. Its all about money. I suggest some of you in houston take a week to follow around the city or county trucks and take pictures then fine or citizens arrest them when they pollute. what the hell is this country coming too when you can get fined for spraying water on a house.

What did you guys do to get Certified ? Was it some kind of test or did you just have to sit in a class?

The city of Houston told us to not talk about it, if we told you they would go and write you a ticket for non-compliance and while they are there they would find something wrong with your equipment and give you a ticket for that and on and on and on. hahahahaha j/k.

So does this mean no one in the STATE can wash a roof unless you are certified by the state? Or is the state requiring it only in Houston??

+10 That is how a lot of contractors in the meeting felt.

That could be why they are so hell-bent on writing tickets, having everyone rat on each other, etc...

Another thing is that they are trying so hard to have the wash water hauled to a facility by contractors to pay a disposal fee and manifest fees.

It was very eye-opening to say the least.

There is a lot more to hauling waste than just putting a tank on your truck or trailer.

I hope that the guys that are hauling the stuff never get pulled over by a DPS officer, that officer will exceed his quota of citations for a month or more with all the violations and the dollar amount of the citations will be very high and could possibly put a lot of contractors out of business.

If this happened, the city could just say that ignorance of the waste-hauling laws and regulations is no excuse and wash their hands of the issue which is very wrong, they need to inform the guys that are hauling the waste of what they need to do, what permits and licenses will be needed, be registered by the state as a waste hauler, etc..... instead of just telling them to haul the waste.

Before all of this is over, I would bet that some of this ends up on tv, maybe even nationwide.

Wow, you guys really did a good thing for the industry there!

I said I WAS GOING TO KEEP MY MOUTH SHUT!

So I erased what else I typed before I posted it.

I wonder how well I can do with my business in Russia? Or maybe Cuba?

One last thing, wow we have really went a different direction from the hard asses we all used to be, 5 years ago you would have thrown a fit over this, reminds me of something like this:
