Pump recommendation?

So when you say that you need to step up that compressor, you are really saying to go out and buy a larger air compressor. OK, I got that one, could not understand that slang or whatever it is called, very vague and not clear, I was thinking it was some kind of play on words or other kind of talking where it does not make any sense so you have to try to figure it out and then you understand. Glad you cleared that up for us.

I was thinking that what you said was there was a way to modify that air compressor to put out more air cfm's somehow when you said that you just need to steup up that compressor, had no clue that you meant to just go buy a bigger air compressor. Now we are on the same page.

I would have just said to go buy a bigger air compressor but that is just me.

Glad this is all cleared up now.

I used to shoot 40' @ 70+PSI with my fatboy and flo jet pentaflex battery pumps but after replacing the head seals too often went back to only shooting 30' @ 60 PSI. I have not blown a head seal since and save myself a lot of time in repairs.

I used to use a all-flo pump but now use it for a transfer & back up pump. I did not like the way it pulsates.
The smaller air pumps pulse more noticeably then the 1/2 inch or larger ones do, especially with a big compressor powering them Marcus.

I started with a 5850. It served its purpose and lasted about 6 months.

We then went to a 1/2" yamada. Actually we went through a couple of them. They would stall often and refuse to run if not rinsed good.

We then tried the all flo pump. IMO that was a waste of money. It cost twice as much as the yamadas with the same results. I may have actually killed it quicker.

Around mid summer 2010 we started using the flo jet air pump from pressure tek.

All of these air pumps have been ran off of our wheelbarrow air compressor. They all have performed pretty similar EXCEPT for the flojet...

It has been bullet proof. Were still using the same pump that we put on in 2010! I've even bought a couple more for backup/transfer pumps, but haven't really needed them yet.

To top things off the flojet cost less than all of others.

Chris, how far will that flojet spray up? Spray out?

Thanks.

The small flo jet air pump needs less air then the 1/2 inch Yamada, it will be better with the small wheelbarrow air compressors.
Your GOAL Chris shall be a 13 or more hp air compressor with a single 30 gallon or better air tank.'
Then, Try a 1/2 inch Yamada, or better yet, a one inch pump.
Until then, enjoy the flo jet, it works great, with little air CFM.'

I am running a flojet pump with 2 - 12 volt battery backup pumps for redundancy. I use a 12 volt FatBoy & a pentaflex with a 30 dia 0 degree tip. If you turn the pressure switch up to where it shoots 70 psi will will get 40 ft with no problem. The more pressure you use the sooner you will blow a head seal. I prefer running it a 60 psi and shooting 30 ft and the seals last a longer time.

They say you can get 40 ft out of the flojet with a bigger compressor but I only have a wheelbarrow compressor with a 6.5 hp Honda not a 13 hp hotdog type.

Not having a bad day that day at all, you mentioned stepping up the compressor that states one thing, instead of just saying get a bigger air compressor or something like that. I guess the northern slang is just too misleading and confusing. hahahahaha

Paul is a great guy and does have great service also.

ok buddy. when your involved in the post ill just keep it simple and direct. I have no intention of being misleading or confusing.

I decided to buy another 1/2" Flo Jet G57 10 GPM pump. It has served us well so no reason to rework our system. I am going to try a few different tips to see if that helps get that little extra height I am looking for. I use a 20 Ga air tank, 13 CFM at 90 PSI.

You don't have to be simple and direct if I am involved in the post, just don't use any of those dumbass slang terms that people not from your area will not know or understand.

Just say what you mean, you don't have to try and impress people with things that they have not heard of or slang terms that people from different parts of the country that do not live in your town have not heard of.

It is ok, lots of people want to impress people from other areas of the country with their expressions and knowledge when they are new to the bbs's and are learning the ropes.

Remember, that slang used in your town might not be used all over this huge country and people probably will not understand you when you are trying to impress people with using those slang terms, if they are even slang.

Good luck, this is a great bbs to be a part of, I am sure you will fit in.

How big is that engine on that air compressor?

What size spray nozzles have you tried?

When I was using the Bandit roller pump from Bob at PressureTek, it is a 6gpm at 150psi and I would use a 0050 spray nozzle and it would spray about 50' to maybe 60'. The roller pump held up good for about 1.5 years then the spare did not last more than 6 months. I really like the distance it had but the components would not last with the roof mix. I rinsed it out after every roof job but the roof mix was too much for that pump.

Dude you are off your rocker. i am not here to impress anyone and I was just trying to be part of a thread that i have knowledge towards. I made a mistake in my typing and your rippin me for what. I forgot your perfect and don't make mistakes. Just let it go and i will do the same.

I am not the one that keeps dragging this out, you are.

Quit trying to change your story or mention things and it will be done with, this can drag out a long time, a very long time. hahahahaha

Not cranky, he just mentioned something about modifying or something about air compressors then it is changed around to having to buy a larger compressor and now it is that it was just slang from his town. I don't know what to believe as he keeps changing his story.

I was hoping that there was a modification that you could do to an air compressor to get more cfm's out of it the way he mentioned it but it turns out that you just have to buy a larger air compressor. Could have said that instead of saying that you could just step it up or whatever nonsense he was saying.

O Well. Whatever.

How you doing Russ?
