PWNA membership?

Who are Terry, Ken & Michael and why are they the front line of this org.

::waving::

We are the guys doing the work. The UAMCC is not a vehicle of any existing organization, business or vendor. I was a PWNA member and asked the same question as everyone else. What benefit did it provide me? I strongly believe a good PW'ing organization can benefit the industry, just not the way it has been done up until now. I give full credit to the ingenuity and kindness of Robert Hinderliter for being the pioneer of all of these endeavors. There have also been some outstanding leaders that came through the PWNA ranks through the years. Unfortunately the organization never became a sum of its parts and good people came and went.

The transition team does not represent the final leadership of the UAMCC. We are merely steering the ship to better fishing grounds. If the UAMCC takes the directions I think it might, every member will get value from being a part. The members will also decide whom becomes the leaders/BOD. I will not be on that ballot. Our (the transition team's) responsibility is to find out what contractors actually want as opposed to dictating an agenda. If anyone wants to assist in the navigation, our first step was establishing the bulletin board. Its FREE to join, doesn't obligate you to anything other than having a voice in our quest to better the industry.

Each of these organization goals were the same goals of PWNA. It would seem that the PWNA brand has more recognition than the new organization. Why not work with the PWNA brand and improve the brand. It would seem that there are issues that we are not privy to.:)

David, I agree with you about the goals. Goals and execution are of course a different manner. The PWNA is currently working on a resurrection and they may achieve that. The UAMCC is not an adversary to any existing org but more of an alternative path to the same end. I think the biggest cry against the PWNA was the hidden agendas. That is one thing we are trying to avoid. As far as brand recognition, I think you have a point among contractors. But as far as the public and the internet is/was concerned the PWNA really had no presence.
