Where's Matt Bryan?

Forget about Rusty, etc. Where is Matt and Chris for that matter. They have both been noticeably absent from here and I for one am getting concerned. Did Big Joe catch a holt of them and do them in? Wha'sup? ::confused:

You said the "F" word.

Maybe he's doing that "dirty jobs" gig----we'll see his greasy mug in lights.

I am still here.

No need to worry.:D

The rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated

Just been humpin day and night to get our sh1t together. We have started taking pictures of every job we do, which is no small task when you are doing over 100 jobs a week. We used to only take pics on the first services which was no big deal, but this is an entirely different animal. We are also switching every single job over to a wash, which is another huge task seeing as about half of our accounts are "scrape only". Customers are running away in droves due to our price increases on the wash services, but the few that stay are really only the customers I wanted in the first place. I am sure my competitors are loving all the new business I'm sending their way:D

All this is leading up to another big push, pushing all the wannabe greaser hacks out of LA. Once we get all of our ducks in a row i.e. photographic evidence that all of our jobs are done to NFPA standards, I am going after everyone in LA that is doing crappy work. I already have forms made up that quote NFPA 96 that will go along with photos of improperly cleaned exhaust systems and these are going to be sent to local fire marshals and any certifying body that has certified the company cleaning it.

My blood is boiling over the fact that my company is seen in the same light as no talent hacks just because we have the same certification.

You guys may not see it as much as we see it here simply because LA has been so far behind everyone else as far as pressure washing goes, but God willing, in the next few years we will be no longer be the exception to the rule.

So lots of work being done and much more to come. Sorry to say I probably wont be posting much, but you guys are always in my thoughts.

raising the standard.....I like it Matt.

Changing the mindset of the owners and the AHJ's out there is the toughest part of sells, I think. I have those pages that you are referring to in the NFPA standards in my presentation package. I've had countless people call me back after they received and looked through my package and ask "What's NFPA?"

I know I'm gonna have a hard sell when I hear the owner/manager say "my guy/the company now does it for $80." We all know that they are not washing the system and there is no way that they are getting it to standard. I sure wish there was a way to get the AHJ's to be as strict on their hood systems as they are on "This door is to remained unlocked during business hours" signs on a stupid back door. It's rediculous. The McDonalds I cleaned last night had 2 filters out of 6 that had NO baffles!!!! No baffles!!! It was just a frame of the filter and that's it. Luckily they are going to get some from me, but who knows how long they have been like that...

It's crazy out there guys. Matt, I wish you the best my friend, and I'll be up here in the desert doing the same thing. I have been taking before and afters since I started and I also offer them to the customer at their request by email. (unless I forget my camera for some stupid reason, or the batteries go dead, but that doesn't happen very often)

Wow looks like this new Hindelighter/Bryan (F word plus) alliance is serious business!!!!! Look for a shop near you to be purchased or forced out of business in the near future!!!!

Matt man go for it!!!,
I wish that the hacks or 2 dudes with a kratcher pressure washer would cut it out. All I hear when we bid is " the other guy does it for 200 bucks." I tell them to go call "the other guy."
Unfortunately here in VA the health inspectors say the hoods are a fire inspectors problem unless it is dripping on the food prep or cook areas. The fire inspectors say it is only thier job to see that the engineering of the hood is correct. So in the end neither side does anything..

Fortunately we don't get many scrape only outfits here, so the pricing is not quite that low. We do however have a huge problem with criminals branching off and forming blow and goes.

We are developing a strategy to run these criminals and theives out of our market as well. This needs to be exercised across the country....run them all out to Puerto Rico.

Sad thing is they can easily become a member af any of the certified bodies with a little experience and a cashiers check.

LOL.
Let Jay deal with 'em, huh?
