Been there, done that. I was pretty new, so I continued wondering what that squeal was. I finished the job and then looked at the pump. Bolted it back on, and it worked for another fofour years.

Look's like the housing actually cracked off. It doesn't look customer site repairable without replacing the pump. Is my vision correct? Did you have a spare pump, housing or rig to finish the job?:frown:

Second look shows that the bearing cup separated. Certainly repairable but you may need to helicoil that one hole some time in the near future.

:rotflmao:probaly ran too low on muffler bearing oil.

Whe was the last time you changed your blinker fluid?

The four bolts holding the pump to the gear box all sheared off. Don't know what grade, they were the ones that came with it. I really like the gear drive - in theory. It's compact, no belts flying around, easy to take on and off and the gears look like they could run a truck, but the one on the machine I wand with just hasn't held up. First the key gets chingered up and that spreads problems to the drive.
