Strip decks? Must Read!!

Before I get into the post I would like to start off by saying there are many fine products on the market and they all have there place.

I decided to test 4 of the leading strippers over the past couple of weeks and I think my results will benefit the industry so that's why I am posting them. My intentions are not to damage or bash anyone’s products so I will not post any names other than the product that out preformed the rest. All strippers were mixed to manufactures specs for the initial test then made stronger. The vertical cling was fair on most but some needed added product to promote cling. 3 of the products were granular so I also tested how much could be used before it stopped breaking down. 1 of the strippers would not go past 10oz. into a gallon, 1 was liquid and did fine, 1 went up to 17oz. into a gallon and 1 went up to 31oz. in to a gallon. Now I don’t know when a concentration that strong would be needed but it’s nice to know it’s available.

All the strippers did their jobs (some I needed to spray and wash several times). I mixed all strippers equally for the stripping test and the winner hands down out preformed them all. So I’m sure you would like to know who and how much! The winner is a product that has been out being tested for several weeks now and is very competitively priced. It is a little bit less than others on the market and you don’t need to use as much.
The name is F-18 and is available through www.pressuretek.com
You will love this product! It has great vertical cling and power. You will cut a 1/4 of the time you spend stripping off of each job so that means more proffit. Give Bob a call you won't be disappoointed!

What were the other products? Where did they fall short of your expectations? You may have a partiality to this product, but we need to know why. How about a cost comparison versus effectiveness? Some pictures would be nice for an honest comparison. I'm not knocking you or your endorsement, just looking for some proof.

I would rather not mention the other products because I don't want to cause confrontation. I will say if you’re in the biz you have used them or at least heard of them. I will say they are not available over the counter. The other products are good and effective this one is just better. I must also say I don't benefit from this test or post I just wanted to share with everyone who may be interested what I have learned. I wish I had some pics to show but I don't. To anyone who reads this I suggest you test different products yourself so you can see what you like. I personally like the F-18 myself over the rest. Call Bob and get a sample you won't be disappointed.

Clean Country.. BITE ME! :) I don't want to list the others because like I stated above this post is not intended to nock other products. So if you don't like the fact that I respect the other companies product I don't really care.

Let's keep this civil, guys. You had to know a post like this was going to make some waves.............regardless of keeping the names private.

I just seen to many posts like these over the years where someone says how a product is the greatest thing around without stating what its better then.

Usually these remarks come from people with very little post which makes it seem like a plug for a company.

As always if the stripper works great for you thats what counts. If you don't feel like mentioning the other strippers that it out performs no problem. It just makes it easier for others to learn from your tests. Kinda like when someone states that Ready Seal will easy outlast Behr's because etc.etc.etc.

I know I have very little posts on this board but that's because I usually post on the other boards. I thought this board would be best to talk about this stripper in order not to step on the owners of the other boards.

CCHS, one great thing about this board from so many others is the freedom of free speech without being castrated. Go ahead and post the others. Whats right is right and whats wrong is wrong. If the others get offended, so be it. If you have a product that out performs theirs, so be it. This is all a learning tool for all of us and we are all always looking for better products. So post away. Most on other boards are just distributor anyway and why would they want to sell the lesser product if there is a better product out there. Its all business.

The only thing I see wrong with this test is the sealers stripped. Several of the sealers tested wouldnt even need sodium hydroxide to strip. Its no accomplishment to strip some of the above.

It would really be fun to do the same test with Sikkens, Wolman Extreme, and Cabots. THAT would be a test.

Actually when the stain is around 6 mos old it can be a large pain in the neck to remove nomatter what it is. I wish I had tougher stuff to stip also but it is very easy to see that F-18 will out preform on anyother stain as well. Try it yourself and see.

If its better than HD80 - it must be good.

I will stick with HD80 unless theres a product that is safer.

Whats the base in this product?

Tim,
Sodium Hidroxide just like HD-80. I would try this stuff if I was you before saying you'll just stick with the HD.

I also use HD-80 and I love the results.

At the PWNA Convention I bought a Deckster among other items from Sunbrite and they also gave me a 1 gallon sample of there Severe-strip to try.

Can F-18 be sent out as a sample?? I would love to do a test between these 3 strippers.

Bob Williamson is the owner of Pressure Tek, and I believe he has a bit more integrity than to come here, or send someone here, to plug his products in the way that has been suggested. I see no reason to doubt Rob's words, even if he hadn't given the other products' names. I can certainly understand his hesitance to do so. Hell, he said Bob would send out a sample, so if you doubt what he's saying, get a sample and try the stuff!

Agreed

Whether or not I agree how the post was put out, I do understand the message. I must say I concur with oneness, Bob
Williamson from Pressure Tek is a great guy who supports the industry in a great way. Anyone who has met Bob will walk away with the same opinion, great guy.

Call Bob and he'll send you a 1lb sample. I took the reading of the post as a product was tried and here are the results obtained. Nothing wrong with that. If more info is needed then name stating can be done through a private message if stepping on toes is a concern.

Most of you know me to be truthfull with my postings and findings, and I try to always tell it like it is. I am going to give the F-18 a try and will flat out state what I think of it and the results obtained. I would want any of you to do the same. I have been using HD80 for a long time now and have tried other strippers and haven't found the results from other strippers. So we'll see what F-18 does for me.
