this one

Several years ago I bought some hood cleaner chemical from Envirospec. I was told it would work on chinese. the stuff would not even clean my hands! They would not make an adjustment. Then I bought a wand and nozzle to apply chemical. The thing had no seals, and leaked all over. I called envorspec back. Their response, no warrenty, I bought it, my problem.

Call Larry at Delco or Mark McIntyre. Both offer customer service

Douglas did you pay by credit card? if so you should have filed against them asking the card not to pay as you did not recieve good products.

Seems with Envirospec's it is hit and miss, some have good luck, others don't with them.

Try your local dealers as first line, then others, not all are created equal in price, service and quality of merchandise.

Douglas,
I had exactly the same problem with E'spec. My new viton seal triggerjet gun failed. They told me no warranty if I had used it to apply chemicals with this chemical applicator! No time to argue so ordered another one. It was sent "3-day" delivery but didn't get it for a long time. They promised to refund cost of shipping. That was many months ago. I give up.

I actually have pretty good luck with Espec. Only problem was a thruster nozzle (i.e. X jet wanna be) that performed nothing like it was touted by them. Sent it back and they checked on their own. It gave a 15 % uptake rate, which was also what I measured. They said that was expected, yet a rate of 25% was advertised. Cost me freight one way to find this out!

On other hand I have never achieved reported 30% on XJet, but I do better than the 15% on thruster.

Also returned a ball valve, which they replaced at cost of freight one way.

Perhaps a bigger concern is that their order takers are just that.

I also got a thruster nozzle from them. I did not try it out yet, but it looked like it was used. I got it for $20.00 and will chalk it up has a $20.00 lesson.

So far I only had one problem with an item ordered from Envirospec and I ordered quite a few items off them over the years. The things I basically ordered off them are non marking hoses(The best prices in the industry and of rock solid quality) tips, wands, a couple of hose reels(Also have hose reels from Delco which are great to) and items of that nature.I haven't ordered much of any working items off them such as powerwashers etc. except for one shurflo pump set up which I originally thought I had a problem with.

The one problem I had with there products was the Hydro Thruster(I think that is what it is called) that is similiar to an x-jet but at one third the cost. I put alot of chlorine thru this piece of equipment and it caused it to pretty much rot where it no longer works. My solution to that was to live and learn and buy the x-jet which hopefully has much better results.

The other problem I thought I had but it turned out to be nothing was I ordered the chemical surflo set-up with the 25 gallon tank. I paid about $200 for this. THe pump on this tends to surge which I found out shurflo pumps do that at times so there was no problem with that.

I have had no problem with Envirospec, I have only orders hoses and nozzles from them, no big ticket items, I did order a cleaner from them called (HOOD PRO), I figured it would be a easier to work with alternative to the caustics for the easier jobs, it worked but it was hard to rinse off.
Doug you should have known better, have you ever found anything that works on chinese grease. by the way the check is in the mail.

I have decided to not buy cheep junk from these people any more. Last order, they shipped me 3, 1/2 inch unloaders, and 8 3/8 pressures switches, I ordered 3/8 unloaders, and 1/4 swithes. Called them and they said no you did not order what I said, but said I could send them back, and they would credit, and they would sent the right order. So I sent them back and now they claim the box was opened, in rout, and there was not all the parts. Any way I had to pay the freight three times, well over $50 shipping all for cheep parts I propably will not use now. I will go back to paying little more for the right parts from my local Hotsy Dealer.

Envirospec problem is ,they dont have people to take orders who have lick of sense. They need actual powerwasher to answer the questions.Last time i called about something, women was readind me info from the catalog, stuff that i already new.

Once they failed to send me a nozzle or too, after a few calls i got it.The biggest problem was my 72' deluxe dual wand.It was a piece of s the first day i got it.Handle was falling off.I was so busy at the time,i didnt bother sending it back.Month later it broke in half,so this year i just ordered another one, hopefully it wont brake.

Wow I have placed many orders, maybe 10 or more, and I have never had a problem, I have ordered guns, wands, nozzles, hoses, things like that and have never had any of those problems. I can understand the person who answers the phone not knowing anything, she is was probably just hired to answer the phone and take orders. I have asked a few times to speak with somone who may no more and got help that way. Anyway I can get items for much less than my local supplier will sell the same item for, so I will keep ordering.

My order from Delco last week for some R-109 was taken by none other then Robert Hinderliter himself. Enough said.

Well said. E-spec's stuff, is some what cheeper in price, but you sure do give up quility. O'h well after 10 years in the business, you would think I would learn. I'm learning every day.

I have actually had god luck with most of my purchases from them. Have mostly purchased tips, turbo nozzles, guns, fittings ect. In some cases these items have been 30-40% cheaper in price for the exact same item. After reading the previous posts I wonder if they stand behind their large units they sell! Can anybody give me some input on that!

Read the inside cover of the envirospec catalog, that will explain, and answer most of the questions that have been asked here.
That is also why I only buy the big ticket items from my local guy, I have been dealing with him for a long time, and I know when I pick it up it will work.
With that being said it is hard to go wrong when buying things like nozzles, and misc parts, I can get Pressure hose ( good hose) for almost half what my local guy would charge me for the same hose.

What a timely thread. I had a doozy of an experience yesterday and today with Enviro. They totally screwed me on getting parts that my company needed for Friday, now we're not getting them until Monday. On top of that they had the gall to blame me, the customer, instead of admitting they just screwed up. Their reasoning that it was my fault and not theirs? I'm not making this up either, their explanation was, "We don't have enough phone lines to make outgoing calls, so you should have called US instead of expecting us to call you." This, of course, is after they specifically told me they would call me back.

Anybody who know's me can tell you that I'm a pretty reasonable guy, but this is exactly the kind of thing I don't need a supplier putting me through during our busiest time of the year. A simple gesture to try and get the stuff to me when I needed it would have kept me as a customer. Instead, after dealing with these people I hung up my cell phone, turned my car around, went back to my office, opened the file cabinet, found the Enviro folder, and promptly dumped the entire thing in the trash. Never again!

it's amazing, some guys have had no problems, and others have those kind of stories. I guess it's all or nothing with those people.

I have invited Allison to the boards. He has not taken me up on the offer as of yet.

I have a few horror stories about envirospec as well. I swore them off once and relented, and then I swore them off again. It usually has to do with messed up orders, getting products switched without my approval. (We talked to your Wife and she said it was okay to send the black hose. Me: Black is fine, you sent me a diferent type of hose that does not last for me. Them: Let me get back to you. Two days later: KNock, Knock, Knock< UPS guy: There was a problem with a shipment that I left here? ME:What??? ) So now the UPS guy is mad at me, I got hose tht lasted an average of 1.5 weeks for all four lengths, And I have to order hose again, and get the UPS guy back friendly with me.

Anyway, The Rant is done. I did invite Allison to join the board, and so far he has not taken me up on my offer. I am sure that he is out there lurking somewhere. So, Hello John.

Scott
