roof mix proportion ratio

I didn't understand you.. sorry:sad: what is 7.5%, what is 5%?

Hes referring to final solution strength.

For a 100 gallon mix,
if your using 12.5% and go 60/40 (60 gallons chlorine/40 gallons water) that breaks down the 12.5% to 7.5% final strength.
So if your using 10.5% and want the same strength, you would mix 72 gallons of chlorine to 36 gallons of water.

Per my calculations if the mix is 40% bleach with 12.5%, then it should be 48% with 10.5% bleach. How I am going to measure these 48% for my 35gal tank, I have no idea :)...

Using the 10.5% you need 25 gallons of that to 10 gallons of water for your 35 galllon tank. That will give you the same 7.5% final solution.

35 x 7.5 / 10.5 = 25

"72 gallons of chlorine to 36 gallons of water"
How do you get 108 gallons in a 100 gallon tank?

Just mix 24 gallons of 10.5% to 11 gallons of water for your 35 gallon tank it will be fine.

(close enough Johnson has it figured out)

Sorry I meant 28 gallons of water.

People, you are thinking way too much and making this into something that it is not.

Keep it simple, 1/2 bleach and 1/2 water then if the mix is not strong enough, put more bleach. If it is strong, try adding more water.

Until you know how your roofs clean (comes with lots of roof cleaning and experience) keep it simple and maybe a little more water than bleach and you should be fine. If it does not work too fast, like within 10-20 minutes then you need more bleach.

This stuff can easily escalade into a large argument or fight over nonsense, keep it simple.

As for the soap, 28 to 32 ounces of dawn or other soap into a 50 gallon tank mix.

Keep it simple.

You've got us confused with the guys that argue. I too use 50/50 but I think we get weak 12.5% up here.

Us roof cleaners play well with others.

At least most of us.

50/50 works for me, The 12.5 I get has got to be at least 17 its freaking HOT!!

Chris, I go 50/50 when using 12.5% as well. But if I were using 10.5% I would go higher becuase 50/50 using 10.5% would not be hot enough for me.

He originally asked if he should go hotter and how and I answered him. Thats all. Not trying to make something out of nothing.

I think the extra 8 gallons of 12.5% is actually the new nanotechnological 12.5%. It know when its in a tight spot to actually constrict its own molecules to fit in the 100 Gallon tank. Now the other question is how do you squeeze the dawn and include the overflow from foaming up to be kept in a 100 gallon packed tank?

:meeting: Someone did not ask this question or explain it scientifically like I did?

:sarcastic:

I want to leave some space for Borax or some soap for less run off. I am still new to the roof cleaning. I scheduled a job on 3000sq ft. house (tile), so I figure 2 tanks of 30-35 gal mix should be enough. What do you guys think?

P.S.
Wow.. while I was writing this post, I didn't realize the new replies :).. Thanks for your input!

A few guys around here have been experiencing some burning and killing of whole rows of hedges even when down streaming. Me included. we've all been using the same ratios as usual. Something is up. It's WAAAAY too strong lately. I've been adding a ton of water even before DS'ing and it's still friggin hot. Guys in the Florida area....Be cautious!!!

You don't need the Borax or any other junk you have read from all over the internet.

Read my post above, keep it simple. Read the post and keep it simple.

That would be cutting it close for me.
