So now back to Dale Ray's to be wired up with LED lights. Had him cut holes in the angle iron so we can run wires through 1/2" "Flex Tubing" to protect wiring.

Flooring will be put in this week.

Stay Tuned.

They did a good job painting the trailer, it came out nice.

Naw I got them on the old trailer. Think I'll try and save a little money and use these, got to buff the rust out of them though.

Hey did you get a van yet?

O ok cool, probably easier to just swap them out if needed and still look good. No van yet unfortunately but still in the market...had one deal going but fell through with someone who ended up not selling. Then I got sidetracked shopping for houses haha....the price on a house makes your wallet clamp up real quick!

looks awesome guy, is their a big price difference in price betwee the powder coat and the two part???? I'm gonna be doing the same thing thats why I'm asking, probably hit you up for that powder coat guy you were talking about.

also the hanging reals is their a advantage to that??? again I'm in process (not in a hurry) and trying to think my way through a build. me with no experience with trailers I thought it would be easier to reel them in if they were on the floor???

thanks for sharing Guy much appreciated.

The closer to chest height the reels are, the easier they are to reel. Think about it, you are rolling up a couple hundred feet of hose, bent over, crushing your diaphragm. That makes it a lot more work. I am to the point now, I just kneel down beside the trailer and wind the hoses.

As for the trailer, very nice. It looks great.

I would say yes, there is (what I consider) a big price difference. What I see is a savings of $300-$400. I think powder coating would be a better choice, I guess I'm kind of doing a comparison of one against the other. I really started this thread to help other guys that are thinking about building or updating they're trailers. Understand, this is not cheap, right now for what I've put in this (Used) trailer I could have bought a new, just not like this one. Also I only expect about 3 years out of these trailers. Wear, tear, and hours takes a toll, then it's time for newer equipment, again that's just me.

Hanging the reels serves 2 purposes, 1 as Scott said, easier to reel. Biggest reason is to free up space on the back trailer for other equipment. Remember, this is a 5 1/2 x 12' trailer that will be within weight limits, totally balanced and still be able to maneuver in tight residential areas.

Here are some pictures of the trailer last year when I bought it. You can see how everything kind of fits, I really like the way it was set up. It will be set up basically the same except for a few modifications and 1 less hose reel.
