Delavan Fatboy set up Demo

Call my wife, Celeste, at 713 817 6117 later today around 4-5, she'll be able to explain it to you.

I think I saw a 12v charging panel at Northern the other day for like 39.99. It was about 2ft by 3ft.

new roof cleaning pump also!

Looks like a nice pump. They are new so we will have to see how long it lasts in the hands of someone that uses it all day everyday.

We just put another new pump on the trailer.
Our old pump is going to be rebuilt after approx 55 thousand gallons of mix.

Was on one of my back up pumps for a week or so..the yamada ndp-15.
Hard worker but just doesn't have the flow we like to work with.

I don't think the FB would last a month on our trailer working in hot Tampa heat all day with as much as we use them.

Russ how many roofs did you get out of your 5800?
How many gallons?
What is the age?
Average run time?

These are the questions that need to be answered about pumps.
Any pump can spray good for a short time, but can it handle the abuse a full time roof cleaner will put it through?

Roof Cleaning Tampa

We are doing a big condo complex, so she's tied up but she'll call you back. Its ok to have bad taste. lol

Have any of you guys hooked up a remote to your chem pump?
Does the fatboy shut itself off when you close the ball valve?

I believe that the fat boy is an "on demand" pump so when you block the valve or let go of the trigger, the pump stops until there is either a reduction in pressure or flow moving then the pump starts again.

Scott D. has had his pump running great for almost a year now.

Does the Fatboy requires limitation on the hose length. Would 300' of 1/2" poly affect the normal operation of the pump?
Also in the manual is not mentioned anything about wiring it with fuse and switch. Does the "on demand" switch work as a long term switch or I should put a switch as well? How many amps fuse would be proper for the Fatboy?
I read people replace the relay; what model relay do you guys replace it with and where do you buy it from? Should I replace it prior use just to be on the safe side in case the pump burn down during a job?
I know I could ask Bob with all these questions, but I am planning to put it on tomorrow (Sunday).

Thanks,

D

The longer the hose, the more strain it puts on the pump. I have used it with 400' before with no issues except a drop in pressure and gpm at the tips.

You do still need a on/off switch in case something bangs your wand or something happenes to your hose, the pump will still stay off.

We use a 30 amp fuse.

I would not replace the relay right away. I have talked to a few guys who have been using the new fatboys w/ the standard relay for a few months with no problems. I would however buy a new one to have on hand just in case. Order one from a dealer since the ones from radio shack (or anywhere like that) are cheap pieces of crap and burn up very quickly.

I currently run 300 feet of Goodyear pliovic 1/2 hose and have been for a year with zero problems :clapping:

Russ, I was just searching on ptstate about dual 12 volt setups and ran across your post from awhile back. I'm having trouble getting the pages to load over there. Anyway, did you replace the dual delavans with the fatboy or is this a different rig??

Russ Spence said he coming
